ABOUT US

The Art
of Glass

Here at Boutique-De-Vin we know how to turn a bottle of wine into an eyecatching and unique work of art. We are an independent company founded in 2012 and specialise in corporate and wedding wines. We have built a long standing relationship with a host of fine wine suppliers and offer everything from fabulous table wines to rare and sought after vintage wines from all over the globe.

Once the customer has selected the wine of their choice and a design that they wish to adorn the product with, our team of skilled bespoke engravers set about the task of creating a work of art, every order, large or small is a challenge, and the we aim to create a beautiful eyecatching and unforgettable product that will be remembered for years to come in the form of a treasured keepsake.

THRE ARE 5 MAJOR STEPS TO CREATING THE ULTIMATE AND PERFECT PRODUCT

Step 1

Firstly we have to de-label every bottle which is a painstaking task but one that is critical in the perfection process. Once de-labling is complete we need to clean and polish every bottle, again this is very labour intensive and something that cannot be hurried.

The next step is for our master engraver to create the selected design image on the bottle, there are a number of pre engraved tasks to adhere to prior to the commencement of the engraving process, these include; vector alignment, size testing, cut depth measuring and text cetreing to name but a few. Once the pre engraving routine has been completed the master engraver then sets about his craft with our in-house laser machines which are at the cutting edge of laser technoligy.

The engraving process itself takes about 12 to 14 minuted per bottle, there is no short cut to this technique due to the extensive deployment of quality management system settings used to create the perfect finish. Throughout the proceadure the machine is monitered at all times to ensure and maintain our high production satndards and product quality control.

Once the product has been perfectly engraved to the customers specifications and been deemed to have passed our quality control inspection it then goes to our polishing line. Here the product is cleaned and polished up to three times to get the desired perfection finish required.

Should the customer require colourisation then the last phase is our art department, here the product design will be coloured to the required specification. This is done by adding three coats of our unique paste and all application is done by hand with the exception of the final sealing polish. The first coat once completed then requires a minimum drying time of at least 30 hours. Once dry a second coat is then applied and hand polished, this coat then requires a drying time of 30 hours also. The final coat is also provided by hand and is then machine polished to to produce the perfect product. The complete process for a colourised product takes approximately 52 minutes; a bespoke etched product without colourisation takes approximately 40 minutes.
